Rise of Freedom – Villa Turella
Specially designed and produced for Villa Turella, Rise of Freedom is a contemporary sculpture that explores the concepts of freedom, ascent, and transformation through organic forms. Located in the garden of the villa in Hatay, the work creates a strong visual connection between the architecture and the landscape, becoming a focal point within the space.
The sculpture’s upward-reaching forms, expanding and separating in different directions, evoke the idea of moving towards freedom and transcending boundaries. Its organic, fluid surfaces establish a natural relationship with the surrounding vegetation, while creating a balanced contrast with the villa’s more defined and classical architectural character.
The sculpture’s scale, vertical character, and light-responsive surfaces played an important role in its selection for the garden. Creating a strong focal point within the landscape, the work complements rather than competes with the surrounding vegetation, echoing its natural forms. Its appearance changes throughout the day as sunlight creates different shadows across its surfaces, while nighttime lighting gives the sculpture an entirely different atmosphere. Considering the work in relation to the architecture, landscape, light, and viewing angles further strengthens its integration with the space.
Produced exclusively for Villa Turella, Rise of Freedom is not merely a decorative element that complements the garden; it is an artistic intervention that brings the idea of freedom into the architectural and landscape setting, giving the space a distinctive identity.
